APL is the time-tested 1:1:1 blend of Japanese Akadama, Pumice, and Black Lava Rock used by bonsai professionals around the world. This is our shohin grade version — every component is sifted to a 1/8"-3/16" particle size with the dust removed, so the mix drains freely and holds its structure in small pots.

This soil mix contains:

• Japanese Akadama (small grain)

• Pumice

• Black Lava Rock

Akadama holds moisture and breaks down slowly to encourage fine root ramification, while pumice and lava keep the mix open, aerated, and free-draining. Sifted and Blended in-house by our professional team at The Bonsai Supply.
